Area code 714 was established in 1951 as a split from 213 and primarily serves northern Orange County, including cities like Anaheim, Santa Ana, and Fullerton. It was split by 619 in 1982. Due to the region's growth, area code 714 was overlaid with area code 657 in 2008.[1]
