The arrondissement of Sarlat-la-Canéda is an arrondissement of France. It is part of the Dordogne département in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Its capital is the city of Sarlat-la-Canéda.

History
changeWhen the Dordogne department was created on 17 February 1800, the arrondissement of Sarlat-la-Canéda was part of that original department, with the name of Arrondissement of Sarlat.[2]
When the communes Sarlat and La Canéda were combined on 1 March 1965, the name of the arrondissement was changed to Sarlat-la-Canéda.
Geography
changeThe arrondissement of Sarlat-la-Canéda is the southwest of Dordogne, with an area of 1,920.6 km2 (742 sq mi).[3] It has 74,666 inhabitants and a population density of 38.9 inhabitants/km².[4]
The arrondissement is bordered to the northeast by the Corrèze department, to the southeast by the Lot department, to the south by the Lot-et-Garonne department, to the west by the arrondissement of Bergerac and to the northwest by the arrondissement of Périgueux.
The Dordogne river and its tributary the Vézère river flow through the arrondissements of Sarlat-la-Canéda.
