Atmosphere of Uranus
layer of gases surrounding the planet Uranus
The atmosphere of Uranus is mainly made up of hydrogen and helium. The lower atmosphere is made up of volatiles such as water, ammonia and methane. The upper atmosphere contains very few gases that are heavier than hydrogen and helium because the temperature of its atmosphere is low. Uranus's atmosphere is the coldest atmosphere of all the planets in the Solar system. Its temperature is as low as 49 K.
