Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia. On 25 December 2024, the flight crashed near Aqtau International Airport, Kazakhstan, with 62 passengers and 5 crew on board.[2][3][4][5]

Russian news agencies said that a cause for the crash was because of a bird strike.[6][7] but initial investigation confirms that Russian missile caused AZAL airplane crash.[8] In total, 38 people died in the accident, including both pilots. 29 people survived.[1][9][10][11]
