Badr bin Abdul Mohsen Al Saud
Badr bin Abdul Mohsen Al Saud (2 April 1949 – 4 May 2024) was a Saudi prince and poet. King Salman bin Abdulaziz, honored him by giving him the King Abdulaziz Medal in 2019. He died on 4 May 2024 in Paris at the age of 75.[1]
Career
changeIn 1973, he became the president of the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts and served as the chairman of Saudi Poetry Organization.[2]
He also wrote texts and operetta for many local or national works, the most recent of which was in 2018 at Jenadriyah festival.[2]
Honors and recognitions
changeIn 2019, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) honored him for his significant poetic, artistic, and cultural achievements over last 40 years during World Poetry Day.[3]
In March 2023, he was awarded the festival's Personality of the Year by Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at the end of the twenty-eighth session of the Al-Qurain Cultural Festival in Kuwait.[4]
