Bed sheet
rectangular piece of cloth or linen cotton used to cover a mattress
A bed sheet is a rectangular piece of cloth that is put on top of a mattress. This is done for reasons of hygiene, and to protect it from wear. If bed sheets are used, they are put under blankets.
The term bed sheet was first used in the 15th century.[1] Bed sheets were traditionally white and made of cotton, linen or silk, however, now various colors and patterns are used.
