Bernard Tapie
French businessman and politician (1943–2021)
Bernard Tapie (French pronunciation: [bɛʁnaʁ tapi]; 26 January 1943 – 3 October 2021) was a French businessman, politician, actor, singer, and television personality. He was Minister of City Affairs in the government of Pierre Bérégovoy between 1992 until 1993. He was also a member of the National Assembly between 1989 until 1992 and again from 1993 until 1996. He was a member of the Radical Party of the Left.
Tapie was born in Paris. He was President of the Olympique de Marseille. From 1963 until 1964, he served for the French Army. Tapie died on 3 October 2021 in Paris from stomach cancer, aged 78.[1]
