Bill Battle

American college football player, college football coach

William Raines Battle III (December 8, 1941 – November 28, 2024) was an American college athletics administrator and football coach. He was the athletic director of the University of Alabama from 2013 to 2017. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He coached the Tennessee Volunteers between 1970 and 1976.

In August 2020, it was reported Battle was hospitalized for COVID-19.[1] He died on November 28, 2024 at the age of 82.[2]
