A bog body' is a human cadaver, that has been left in a bog. Because of the circumstances, it has been mummified, using natural mummification. The enviroment of the peat bog means that certain features are preserved, which would usually decay. Such bodies are often found, the oldest ones date to about 8000 BC, the most recent ones are those of dead soldiers of the Second World War.
