Burrowing owl

species of bird

The burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia) is a bird in the Strigidae family.[1]

They nest and roost in burrows. The owls are often active during the day. Like many other kinds of owls, burrowing owls do most of their hunting during dusk and dawn, when they can best use their night vision and hearing.
