Capparaceae commonly known the caper family, are trees, shrubs, or lianas, sometimes herbs, that are usually found in the tropics. The family may contain up to 16 genera and 480 species, although some genera currently included may not belong there. The largest genera are Capparis (about 150 species), Maerua (100 species), Boscia (37 species) and Cadaba (30 species).
