Carlo Tognoli (16 June 1938 – 5 March 2021) was an Italian politician.

Tognoli was born at Milan. He was Mayor of Milan from 1976 to 1986. From 1984 until 1987 he was also elected to the European Parliament.

From 1981 to 1992 he was a journalist and director of the monthly newspaper Critica Sociale.

Tognoli died in Milan on 5 March 2021, at the age of 82, from problems caused by COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy.[1]
