Cecilia Chung
civil rights leader and activist for LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, and health advocacy
Cecilia Chung (Chinese: 鍾紹琪; born 1965) is a transgender woman and civil rights activist for LGBTQIA+ rights and equality, healthcare for everyone, social justice,[1] and HIV/AIDS treatment access and awareness.[2] She is a founder of the annual Trans March held in San Francisco.[3] She was the first Asian and first transgender President of the Board of Directors of San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Pride Celebration Committee.[3] Chung was also a test counselor and residential counselor for the UCSF AIDS Health Project. During her time there, she helped draw attention to transgender people and people living with HIV.[3]
