Charlie Barrett
Charlie Barrett (age 40) is an American professional rock climber.[1]
Early life and Professional career
changeBarrett grew up in Santa Rosa,[2]Charlie Barrett moved to the Mammoth area more than thirteen years ago. He is a native of Sonoma County.[3]
According to a 2019 Tahoe Quarterly article, Barrett, who was originally from Santa Rosa, was a well-known climber in California[4] and built "some of the hardest bouldering routes" in the region. Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that doesn't require ropes. He made his home in South Lake Tahoe, Mammoth Lakes, and Bishop, three hotspots for rock climbing.[5]
Controversies
changeIn 2016, he was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault against a woman who was visiting Yosemite National Park,[6] and he was given a life sentence.[7]and a fine of $250,000.[8][9][10]
