Chen Din Hwa
Chen Din-hwa (Chinese: 陳廷驊; 1923 – 17 June 2012) was a businessman and philanthropist based in Hong Kong.[1] He was ranked as the 14th wealthiest person in Hong Kong. His net worth at the time of his death was worth of US$2.6 billion.[2]

Life and career
changeHe was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang, Republic of China in 1923.[3] He left his school at the age of 12 and started working as an apprentice to a silk merchant. At the age of 22 years old, he became chief manager of his family business and at later he owned multiple shops and factories in Shanghai and Ningbo. In 1949, he shifted to Hong Kong where he set up business.[4]
In 1954, he established Nan Fung Textiles and became its chairman. In the same year, he established Nan Fung Development Limited.
In 2009, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The he handed over control of his business to his younger daughter Vivien Chen. She has been part of the business since 1981.[5]
Death
changeHe died on 17 June 2012 at the age of 89 due to prostate cancer.
