Cheo Feliciano

Puerto Rican musician (1935–2014)

Cheo Feliciano (José Luis Feliciano Vega, July 3, 1935 – April 17, 2014) was a Puerto Rican composer and singer. He was mostly involved with salsa and Cuban music. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Feliciano died in Cupey, Puerto Rico, in a car accident. He was 78 years old.[1][2]

At the peak of his career in the 1960s he recorded nine albums with the Joe Cuba Sextet, and in the 1970s he recorded 15 albums for Fania Records, then the leading salsa music record company.[3]
