Col

lowest point on a mountain ridge between two peaks, which is a special, more rugged form of a saddle

The col is a concept in topography. It is the lowest point on a mountain ridge between two peaks.[1][2]

In order to find out the prominence of a peak, a key col is used. This is the highest col between the peak and its parent peak.[1]
