Colt Single Action Army
single-action revolver
The Colt Single Action Army is a single action revolver that was made a standard issue firearm in the United States Army in 1873. Designed by Samuel Colt, there are many variants of this pistol, ranging from different calibers all the way up to barrel lengths and engravings. The revolver's ammo capacity is six rounds. Being a single action revolver, it requires the user to cock (pull) the hammer back with every shot. With practice, the user can become quite fast in operating the action. The Colt Single Action Army is prized by collectors everywhere, and is one of the most recognizable firearms in history.
