Coming out
process of disclosing one's sexual orientation or other identity attributes
(Redirected from Coming out of the closet)
The term coming out means to reveal oneself as any orientation or gender. It means no longer hiding one's sexual or romantic orientation, or gender.[1]
The subject has been talked about as an issue of privacy. "Coming out of the closet" is said to be a psychological process, decision making or risk-taking, a means toward feeling gay pride rather than shame or stigma, or even career suicide.[2][3]
