Philadelphia major league stadium from 1909 to 1970; known as Connie Mack Stadium from 1953 to 1970
Connie Mack Stadium orginially called Shibe Park was a baseball stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The stadium opened in 1909 as Shibe Park and was renamed Connie Mack Stadium in 1953. The Philadelphia Athletics of the American League played in the stadium unitl the 1954 season. The relocated to Kansas City in 1955. The National League's Philadelphia Phillies played at the stadium from 1938 until the stadium was closed down in 1970. The stadium was destroyed in 1976.
