Cristien Polak
Surinamese diplomate and government minister
Cristien R. Polak (died 26 September 2022) was a Surinamese politician.[2]

Polak was Surinamese minister of Social Affairs and Housing in the Bouterse II Cabinet from 1 February 2017 to 16 May 2019. Together with three other ministers she was replaced in May 2019.[3] As a diplomat Polak was minister plenipotentiary at the Surinamese embassy in Caracas.[2]
Polak died in hospital in the evenening of 26 September 2022.[2] Desi Bouterse replied to her death with: "A tranga wroko uma has preceded us! Rest in peace Cristien R. Polak and a lot of strength to the family and fellow party members".[1]
