Shante Scott Franklin (born 4 April 1981), better known by his stage name Currensy (stylized as Curren$y) is an American rapper, songwriter, and actor. Formely signed to Lil Wayne's record label Young Money Entertainment, he signed himself to No Limit Records as a teenager. After releasing mixtapes he dropped his debut album This Aint No Mixtape in April 2009.

After gaining stream in 2007 he made a shocking move leaving Young Money to do his own thing on an aeroplane. Currensy said "I ain't see nothing coming out of there. I have been on Young Money for like 4 years. We had the "Where The Cash At" video game, you know, that was cool".
