David Tsubouchi

Canadian politician

David Tsubouchi (born August 20, 1951) is a Canadian lawyer and politician.

Early life change

Tsubouchi was born in Toronto, Ontario. He is the son of Japanese Canadian parents. He is Sansei, which means that he is the grandson of people born in Japan who immigrated to Canada.[1]

At York University, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972 and a law degree in 1975.[2]

Career change

Tsubouchi was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 2003.[3] He is the first Japanese-Canadian to hold a cabinet position in a Canadian provincial government.[1]

He is a member of the Board of Governors of York University.[4]
