Dawda Jawara
1st President of the Gambia (1924-2019)
Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, GCMG (May 16, 1924 – August 27, 2019) was an Gambian politician. He was the first leader of the Gambia, serving first as Prime Minister from 1962 to 1970. Then, he served as President from 1970 to 1994.[1]
