Dick Gray
American baseball player
Richard Benjamin Gray (July 11, 1931 – July 8, 2013) was an American baseball player. Gray was a third baseman in Major League Baseball. He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals.
Gray is best known as the player who hit the first home run in Los Angeles Dodgers history[1] and the first to homer in their opening game at LA Memorial Coliseum.[2]
Gray was born on July 11, 1931 in Jefferson, Greene County, Pennsylvania. He retired in 1993. Gray died on July 8, 2013 in Anaheim, California from heart failure, aged 81.[3]
