Doddie Weir

rugby union player and businessman from Scotland

George Wilson "Doddie" Weir (4 July 1970 – 26 November 2022) was a Scottish rugby union player. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He played as a lock. He made 61 international appearances for the Scotland national team from 1990 to 2000.

In June 2017, Weir announced he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (ALS) in order to promote Global MND Awareness Day[1] which caused his death on 26 November 2022.
