Dunlop Tyres, or simply Dunlop, is one of the biggest manufacturers of tyres for cars and motorcycles. From 1999 to 2015, it was a joint-venture of Sumitomo Rubber Industries and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Since 2015, the two companies have split up the market. John Boyd Dunlop founded the company in 1888, when he got a patent for the first pneumatic rubber tyre.
