Efrem Zimbalist Sr.

Russian-American violinist, composer, teacher, conductor (1889–1985)

Efrem Zimbalist, Sr. (21 April [O.S. 9 April] 1889 or 1890[1]  – February 22, 1985) was a Russian-American violinist, composer, teacher, and conductor. He was director of the Curtis Institute of Music. He was married to Alma Gluck. He was the father of actor Efrem Zimbalist, Jr..

Zimbalist, Sr. died at the age of 94 from natural causes.[2]
