Elena Milashina

Elena Milashina (Russian: Елена Милашина, born 28 October 1978) is a Russian investigative journalist for Novaya Gazeta. In October 2009, Milashina received Human Rights Watch's Alison Des Forges Award for Extraordinary Activism.[1]

In 2006, Milashina's colleague Anna Politkovskaya was assassinated in Moscow. Milashina continues the investigations.

In the early morning of April 5, 2012, two unidentified people attacked Milashina and her friend Ella Asoyan in the Balashika neighborhood of Moscow.[2]

In 2013, Elena Milashina received an International Women of Courage Award.[3][4][5][6]
