Svensk handbollselit is the top division of women's handball in Sweden. It consists of 12 teams. Swedish national indoor championships for wommen have been played since 1951. The event is organized by the Swedish Handball Federation.[1]
The series changed name to "Svensk handbollselit" for the 2016-2017 season.[2] Before that it was called Elitserien (Swedish: Elitserien i handboll för damer).
