Elsbeth Gerritsen
Elsbeth Gerritsen (19 February 1971 – 21 December 2024) was a Dutch operatic mezzo-soprano.

Biography
changeGerritsen studied musicology at the Utrecht University and did afterwards singing education at the Amsterdam Conservatory. She was trained by Margreet Honig and Jars van Nes .[1][2]
Gerritsen was a solist with Asko/Schönberg, the Doelen Ensemble and Camerata Trajectina. She was a member of the Nederlandse Kamerkoor, Netherlands Bach Society, and the vocal quartet Quink.[1] She sang in among others Orfeo in Orfeo ed Euridice, Martha in Faust, Mrs. Noye in Noye's Fludde, Miss Baggott in Brittens The Little Sweep, Miranda in The Tempest van Purcell, Boris Godoenov. and Peace in De Triomfeerende Min. In addition, she sang and performed in several world premieres.[3]
Gerritsen was married to bass-baritone Michiel Meijer.[4] She died from breast cancer on 21 December 2024, at the age of 53.[5][1]
