Emile Degelin
Belgian film director, novelist (1926-2017)
Emile Degelin (16 July 1926 – 20 May 2017) was a Belgian movie director and novelist. He was known for being the director of If the Wind Frightens You.[1] His 1963 movie Life and Death in Flanders was entered into the 13th Berlin International Film Festival.[2] His 1969 movie Palaver was entered into the 6th Moscow International Film Festival.[3] His last movie, De ooggetuige, won the audience prize at the Ghent Film Festival in 1995.[4]
Degelin was born in Diest, Belgium. He died on 20 May 2017 at his home in Kessel-Lo, a borough of Leuven, Belgium from pneumonia at the age of 90.[5]
