Emilia Plater was a Polish-Lithuanian noblewoman and revolutionary.

Plater led soldiers in several engagements during the November Uprising in the Polish-Russian Wars of 1830-1831. She became ill toward the end of the Uprising and died.

Though she did not fight in any large battles, her story inspired many works of art and literature. She is a national heroine in Poland, Lithuania and Belarus, all formerly parts of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
