An affair is a sexual relationship, romantic friendship, or passionate attachment between two people where at least one of the two has a connection with a third person, either in a marriage or relationship, without the third person's knowledge or agreement.[1]
A romantic affair, also called an affair of the heart, may be about sexual actions of more emotional relationship between two people who may have sex without expecting a more formal romantic relationship.[2]
