Note sur la forme : bien que la commission nationale d'héraldique préconise une forme d'écu ancien pour les blasons des communes (circulaire envoyée en 2001 à toutes les mairies de France). La forme d'écu moderne est acceptée quand il s'agit d'esthétique. C'est la forme utilisé par la commune depuis la mise en oeuvre du blason. C'est également celle utilisée sur un bas relief présent sur le fronton de la mairie.
