Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Köditz besteht seit 1978 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Brunnenthal, Joditz, Köditz und Schlegel. Die Gemeinde hat das Wappen von Köditz aus dem Jahr 1959 unverändert übernommen. Mit Zustimmung der Familie von Falkenstein hat die Gemeinde das Familienwappen als Gemeindewappen angenommen. Die Herren von Falkenstein, ein sächsisches Adelsgeschlecht, waren seit 1666 lange in Köditz ansässig und nannten sich mehrfach nach dem Ort Herren von Köditz.
