Description

Le salon de Paul Reynaud (partie) a été conservé en l'état au sein du nouvel établissement "Cité nationale de l'histoire de l'immigration"

Paul Reynaud était ministre des colonies au moment de la construction du Palais des colonies qui abrite aujourd'hui la CNHI.

La fresque, exaltant les apports positifs de la colonisation française, a été réalisée par Louis Bouquet, un élève de Maurice Denis. Le mobilier est d'Emile-Jacques Rulhmann : les chaises, les fauteuils "éléphant" en cuir, le bureau habillé d'ébène, d'ivoire et de galuchat.

Dans le cadre de son projet scientifique et culturel, la Cité a pour missions de concevoir et de gérer un musée national de l’Histoire et des Cultures de l’immigration, ensemble culturel original à caractère muséologique et scientifique, chargé de conserver et de présenter au public des collections représentatives de l’histoire, des arts et des cultures de l’immigration.
