Venussymbolet som står over korslagte redskapene, er det gamle symbolet for metallet kopper har vært brukt som symbol for Røros gjennom generasjoner.

Feiselen (hammeren med to flate baner) og bergjarnet (skaft-meiselen med èn flate og èn spiss bane) ble brukt i sammenheng. Disse to handredskapene er de klassiske gruveredskapene, og de symboliserer bergverk generelt.
