Here's a version that does not elongate the overall map and only shows NYC, Chicago, and LA. I'd be fine removing Chicago even. If someone wants to see fine detail they can zoom in, this is an SVG. The text is large, but we could make it larger still. I don't want people to have to click through to the map to figure out what the text or insets are

The original older version simply had too many issues to serve as one of the more important maps on this site. If you have issues with texts or specific insets please leave me a message. I’d be happy to upload newer version.

Insets on this map should be legible from the infobox without clicking through. Furthermore, metro areas with no reason for an inset should not have one. Why are we zooming in on Nashville? SLC?
