Deutsch: Der Apfel steht redend für den Ortsnamen, der aus dem Althochdeutschen kommt und Apfelbaumbestand bedeutet. Die beiden durch eine Mauer miteinander verbundenen Rundtürme weisen auf den im Mittelalter angelegten, bis heute erhaltenen Friedhof im Ort hin, der ein bedeutendes Baudenkmal darstellt.
