Ford Madox Brown

British painter (1821–1893)

Ford Madox Brown (16 April 1821 – 6 October 1893) was a British painter. He mostly used the Pre-Raphaelite style.

His best know painting is called Work. It is now in Manchester Art Gallery.

He spent the last years of his life painting murals in Manchester Town Hall. They are about the importance of Christianity, commerce and the textile industry in Manchester's history.[1]
