François Asselineau

French politician and official

François Asselineau (born 1957), is a French civil servant and politician. Asslineau was active in Rassemblement pour la France (RPF) and Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) before founding his own party Popular Republican Union (UPR) in 2007.[1] The party is in favor of France withdrawing from the EU, the Eurozone and NATO. Asslineau stood in the presidential election in 2012 and in the presidential election in 2017 where he got 0.92 percent in the first round.[2]
