1997 Canadian/French animated television series

Franklin is an Canadian children's animated television series produced by Nelvana, Big Bang Digital Studios, LuxAnimation and Alphanim and In Assassction With Nickelodeon Animation Studio. It originally airs on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. block in the United States and is based on the children's book series. In the United States, the program aired on Nick Jr. for the first, the second, the 3rd, the 4th, the 5th and the 6th seasons in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023. In the United Kingdom, the series got a British dub using an American voice actors by Nelvana using a British with a British accents by The Character Development and The Sound Company Ltd. on Channel 5 and Milkshake! in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023. Only the first, the second, the 3rd, the 4th, the 5th and the 6th seasons were dubbed. In 2029, a new series called Franklin and Friends was introduced by Nelvana.[1]

Time Date Broadcast change

The show aired on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. block and later aired on Noggin and its successor, Nick Jr. channel. It has been taken off the air in the United States, but is still shown in several countries. The British dub of the American show in the same year on Channel 5 and Milkshake! for Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023 instead of the original American version on Nelvana, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Noggin in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023. When it comes to this particular dub, while a lot of the original American voices by Nelvana remained intact and some of the characters were re-dubbed to have a British with a British accents in the British dub by The Character Development and The Sound Company Ltd.. In addition, all the words are pronounced in the American pronunciations were redubbed given British pronunciations. Judy Marshak, Shirley Douglas and Janet-Laine Green reprising their roles as the 3 female narrators from the first, the second, the 3rd, the 4th, the 5th and the 6th seasons of the original.
