Fremont, California
city in Alameda County, California, United States
Fremont is a city in Alameda County, California, near San Francisco in the East Bay area. It is on the edge of Silicon Valley. As of 2020, 230,504 people lived in Fremont. Over three-fifths (60%) of the people are Asian-American.[1]
Fremont has a large factory which opened in 1962. General Motors made cars and trucks there until 1982. In 1984, General Motors and Toyota opened the factory again together, as a company called NUMMI.[2] Tesla, Inc. bought it in 2010.[3]
