Gábor Tamás Nagy

Dr. Tamás Gábor Nagy ( Budapest, October 8, 1960 –) is a Hungarian lawyer, sociologist, politician, mayor of the 1st District of Budapest between 1998 and 2019.

He became a member of Fidesz in 1989. In the summer of 1990, he studied political institutions in the United States. On December 12, 1993, he became a Member of Parliament (MP). 1998 to 2014, he served as an MP for the 1st individual constituency.
From 1998 to 2019, he was the mayor of Budapest’s 1st district. In June 1998, he joined the Hungarian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
In the 2019 local elections, he lost the mayoral race by 0.97 percentage points to opposition candidate Márta V. Naszályi.
