Garland F. Pinholster
American politician and sports coach
Garland Folsom Pinholster (February 19, 1928 – September 20, 2020) was an American athletic director as well as college basketball, baseball, and tennis coach. He was elected to the Oglethorpe Athletic Hall of Fame in its inaugural year of 1962.[1] He coached Oglethorpe University's basketball team between 1956 to 1966. From 1948 to 1950, he played for North Georgia Nighthawks. Pinholster was born in Clyattville, Georgia.
Pinholster was in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1990 to 2002 and was a Republican.[2][3]
Pinholster died on September 20, 2020 in Ball Ground, Georgia at the age of 92.[4]
