Gender transition is the process of changing one's gender from the one they were identified at birth to the one how they currently identify as. It is the recommended course of treatment for people struggling with gender dysphoria, giving improved mental health results in the majority of people.[1]

A medical transition may include hormone replacement therapy, transgender voice therapy, and gender affirming surgeries. The ability to start a medical transition is typically offered after a diagnosis of gender dysphoria.[2]
