Georg Kronawitter
German politician, mayor of Munich (1928-2016)
Georg Kronawitter (21 April 1928 - 28 April 2016) was a German politician. He was a member of the SPD. He was mayor of Munich from 1972 to 1978 and from 1984 to 1993. He joined the SPD in 1961 and was elected to the Landtag of Bavaria in 1966. In the 1972 local elections, he was elected Mayor of Munich with 55.9 percent of the votes.[1]
Kronawitter was born in Oberthann, a part of Schweitenkirchen, in the district of Pfaffenhofen.
He died in Munich, aged 88.
