Governorate of Cuba

The Governorate of Cuba, as suggested by its name, was located in Cuba. It was a part of the Kingdom of Castile, but when Spain united, it became a part of the famous Spanish Empire. organized in 1510 by the recently restored Viceroy of the Indies, Diego Colón, under the command of Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar, who became Cuba's first governor until his death in 1524.
