Gregory Areshian
Armenian-American archeologist and historian
Gregory Areshian (13 May 1949 – 2 August 2020) was an Armenian-American archeologist and historian. He was a professor at American University of Armenia. He was the co-director of the international team of archeologists that found the 5,500 years old shoe in and the oldest winery in Areni.[1]
Areshian taught at 14 American universities and colleges including; the University of California, Los Angeles, University of California, Irvine, University of Chicago, University of Wisconsin, Platteville, and Amherst College.
Areshian died on 2 August 2020 in Yerevan from COVID-19, aged 71.[2][3]
